Lige Green Flowers was founded in 1935 by Elijah P. Green. His uncle, W.B. Green was one of the first major Florists in Fort Worth and he trained his nephew, "Lige" Green. The original store was at Fifth Avenue and Pennsylvania Street. That was the original location until 1966 when the new shop was built at 1300 Eighth Avenue in Fort Worth and a second location was opened in Arlington in 1969.
