Paul's Porterhouse Steakhouse, still a favorite in the Dallas steakhouse scene. After spending big bucks on a la cart side dishes elsewhere, the fact that the prices here include soup or salad and sides is a welcome relief.

Named after Trinity College in Dublin and packed to the gills with authentic Irish furnishings and structural components, Trinity Hall serves great corned beef and cabbage, mussels and bread pudding. But mostly it's just a great place to sit, sip and tip. Watch your head.

The pub grub at Tipperary Inn is not your typical bar food. The menu here includes traditional Irish fare such as bangers & mash, shepherd’s pie and fish & chips. But while there are no cheese fries or potato skins, spuds do make plenty of other appearances, providing comfort food for those in need. Chips (or fries) come as an appetizer (served with a curry dipping sauce) or as a side with several menu items, as does “colcannon,” a mashed potato dish that is particularly tasty. Along with the potato-heavy menu, the Tipp’s cozy environs will draw you in and stir up your hunger. Just don’t overdo it, or you may walk out feeling like one big tater tot.
