Blue Goose Cantina
Blue Goose heats up at night, when the bar crowd fills this cement-floored, cantina-style mainstay on Lower Greenville. We tried the El Grande Plato, a hubcap-sized platter filled with chicken and beef fajitas, pork medallions (barely distinguishable from the beef) and shrimp wrapped in bacon and stuffed with cheese and a scallion. The shrimp were outstanding; the fajitas, sautéed with mushrooms, sweet onions and bell peppers, pretty good. Don't miss the borracho beans--the best we've had in town, stocked with thick, lean hunks of bacon. It's easier to get a table at lunch.
