Our "best-kept secret" bar has its own little secret: a dinner and Sunday brunch menu that's as appetizing as any restaurant that doesn't have Boddington's on tap. Though the majority may sound like almost standard pub fare (sandwiches, chips and salsa), it's a grade above. The burger is served on a brioche and topped with blue cheese, and the fries are thin and crispy with a little zing we couldn't identify. Then there are the non-bar items: crab cakes with remoulade, crawfish chili and homemade bread pudding. We suggest starting off with the portabella fries, an order of crunchy, battered mushroom slices served with red pepper ranch dressing. It's all quite absorbent, too, which helps at a bar that serves specialty drafts and old-fashioned cocktails.
